Pumpkin Patch
We made our annual family pumpkin patch trip! It is my favorite tradition we have so far. I love the colors in Autumn and the cooler weather. This year Caleb was old enough to run through the corn maze with Ellaina and Kelman. What a difference a year makes...
I can't wait until next year! We'll have to find a new pumpkin patch...

Circus
Who would have thought that the circus would come to our little town? It may have not been a three-ring circus but anything is better than nothing! Besides, it is a three-ring circus at our house everyday.
E's class even got to go in the morning to watch the elephants set the tent up. It was quite chilly that morning. After waiting for an hour they finally went back to school without getting to see the elephants work. They did get to walk around and look at all the animals though. Setting up the ten
t was a lot of work! I'm glad I wasn't on the team that had to use the sledgehammer. The guys worked 3 on a spike and had a really good rhythm alternating hits with each other. It was impressive to see. I can't imagine having to set up the tent for a one day event and then take it all down just to drive to the next town and do it again the next day! How tiring that must be!
The kids even got to ride an elephant. |
K chose not to ride the camel. |
K's favorite was the train! |

Sleepy baby
I have not had a baby that will just fall asleep whenever and wherever. It is crazy. One moment he is up - the next sound asleep. One day we were on our way to pick up his sister from school and by the time I buckled up his brother and got myself in the van he was out! I am thankful he is a good sleeper. It helps make up for the older brother who likes to see how long he can stay up!

Life with K...
I must say that life is never dull with K around! He can be the sweetest child or make you want to scream. It is fun to watch him play though. Items become more than what they were actually made to be. Potty chairs become tunnels, toy boxes are now stairs and his latest invention...
THE HAT!
The waistband was pushing the skin around his eyes forward making him look really tough and riled up. It was such a hilarious site to see him come riding down the hall on his car sporting this. It's moments like these that help me get through the exasperating times.

First Day
Today is E's first day in Kdg. She is beyond excited!!! She loves her friends and is thrilled that there will be lots of new friends this year. Last year she was one of four girls. This year is a better split with 7 girls and 8 boys. I can't wait to hear how today went for her.
K on the other hand was not as happy about school starting again. He hollered all the way home - which took us 15 minutes as opposed to the 2 it took to get there! P did drop offs in the morning so I need to learn a better route home. Once home, he cried at the door for Nay-na. It will take a few days but we'll all get better at this.

Check ups
The check ups are over. All of them had to get shots. K was in my arms playing with the otoscope when the Dr. gave him his shot in the arm. The look he gave the Dr. was priceless. It was like he was saying, "I'm playing here, man. Quit messing with me." E got to sit on the saddle for hers while I gave her bear hugs to keep her from moving. She had to get one in each arm. She was so brave. I really expected her to cry but she held it in. Then there's poor C. He had to get 6 shots! The dr. has a neat device that can give up to three shots at once but still that is three needles going in you at once. He cried. And cried. And cried some more. His face was all splotchy from all the tears. :(
E weighed in at 29.8 pounds and is 40 inches tall.
K weighed in at 25.2 pounds and is 33 inches tall.
C weighed in at 21.68 pounds and is 31 inches tall.
I really expected C to be at least the same weight as K. Maybe he has dropped some since he runs all over the place these days. I know we weighed him a couple months back and he was over 22 pounds so we switched out car seats.
