Many firsts...

Today was the first for many things crafting.  I made a card with my cricut machine!  I used the cuttlebug to add embossing and I entered my first two challenges! (mypinkstamper birthday challenge and  peachykeen challenge emboss it)  How fun!  But can I tell you just how slow I am at this?  What would be a quick card for most turned into a day long project. Trying to pick out paper was harder than I thought.  Every blog I view makes it looks so easy.  I now have an even bigger respect for all you crafters.  There are many tricks I still need to learn.  If I did the card over I'd cut the top of the cupcake slightly larger so there is no gap between cake and wrapper.  I would like to learn how to save paper by cutting only the image I need from each paper.  Anyway, lots to learn but there are also lots of talented people I can continue to stalk!
Here is my DD LOVING the cuttlebug.  She wanted to emboss ever piece of paper we had.  I finally had to put it away.  She made a get well card for her grandmother.
She did this herself.  I helped with measuring
and cutting.  The rest is all her!  So proud!

  1. How cute is she! My son also loves the cuttlebug! lol. Your card is very pretty, good luck :0). Have a blessed day!
    Hugs, Carol L.

  2. To cut only the image you need on a piece of paper you need to have the Design Studio or a Gypsy to hide what you don't want to cut. Cute card and it's nice to see your daughter having fun crafting with you.

  3. Oh how CUTE!!! It's just adorable {and so is your daughter!} Thanks so much for playing along with us at PeachyKeen!!! Good luck!

  4. Super cute!!! I'm now following you :)

  5. You have set a higher standard with people learning from you, especially DD!! So many crafts, so little time....love you

  6. Grandmother's going to love that card :)

  7. Don't be so hard on yourself Audra!! Both you and your daughter are doing brilliantly!
I'm clueless with the Cricut! *sigh*!
Thanks for joining us at Peachy Keen. Good luck! Viv xx

  8. I am proud of you for doing so many firsts! I am a newbie with the cricut as well. It will get easier the more we practice. Your daughter did a nice job and so did you! Thanks for joining the challenge at PKS!

  9. Your card is really cute and so is your daughter. I do the same thing spend lots of time trying to decide on color of paper images etc. I have scrapebook Layouts that take me forever to complete becaudse I fiss over them. It does get easier the more you do it and the blog world is a gtrat resource for ideas. techniques and inspiration. your doing great!
