Lil' Aggie

One of K's favorite things to do is listen to the Aggie War Hymn and march around the room. His vocabulary is limited but he does know how to let you know he wants his favorite song. He will point to the TV and say "ban" while doing his "march." If that doesn't work he will try to find his Aggie book and bring it to you pointing to the band. You can try to ignore this but it only gets louder as his attempts to see the band marching become more distressed. In the video you'll see he gets upset at certain parts. That is when everyone is swaying and he doesn't have a partner!

Q and U wedding

Today was a big day in kinder-prep. Q and U got married! It was a beautiful ceremony. Queen Quilla looked so pretty in her long gold robe. Unfortunately Uncle Ugbee came dressed true to form... in his underwear! (I will have to get a better copy of the ceremony from Mrs. Starks. I let K play with the camera before the ceremony to keep him still and all the settings were changed.)

The reception was delicious. We had cake, cookies and punch. The kids even got to drink out of fancy glasses and also take them home as souvenirs. What a creative way to reinforce the concept that Q needs U by its side to make a sound. I don't think the kids will ever forget that now!

And the reading begins...

Ellaina is READING!!! I cannot begin to describe how proud my heart feels right now. My little girl has discovered a whole new world. She is so eager to read more books and words. Oh the fun yet in store for her...

Ellaina, I am SO proud of you! (By the way, she is only 4 years old!)

This is Your Life

We did it! The surprise party was a success. Leslie never knew anything about the party. That became very obvious when she agreed to attend a rescheduled mentor training during the party! We quickly scrambled trying to get everyone notified of the time change. I think only one person came early and got to see the decorating in progress.

Speaking of decorations, they were incredible! If you ever need someone to decorate an event for you just let me know. Allegra is the most talented, creative person I have ever had the pleasure to know. She is AMAZING! The school auditorium was much more festive with the 200+ balloons and numerous Leslie posters. (Allegra rented a helium tank and wanted to empty it but she finally admitted defeat to the tank.)

We also had a slideshow/video presentation of Leslie through the years. Lisa did such an outstanding job getting it all put together. (I think she has a new career field awaiting her.) The tribute was so touching. I even cried! The presentation was better than what my mind had imagined.
The party was everything I had hoped for and more. I am so blessed to have such a dear friend as Leslie in my life. We wanted to take a moment to honor her and all she means to each of us.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY month dear Leslie! I love ya!!! (And now you know I CAN keep a secret from you for four months!)
