I'm sad to report there has not been much crafting around here. Sick kiddos took over the house and any down time. My focus for the next few months will be packing and trying to keep the house of three little ones ready to show. (I laugh thinking about that.) I will try to sneak in some craft time for sanity sake.
Today we had a baby shower for a friend at church. I was asked to make a diaper cake. So, with little resources and no trip planned to the big city to pick up extra decor to add to the cake this is what I presented.
The bow is actually reused from a flower arrangement I got for my birthday. Everyone loved it and I felt guilty for how easy and little effort it took to put together.

Ice Princess
We made it back for a second trip on the ice and this time E skated by herself away. We are so proud of her. She is hoping that we move somewhere near a rink so she can take lessons. Wait until she sees the sparkly outfits skaters wear. We'll never get her off the ice then!
This one is when she spotted her brothers watching through the window. So sweet...

Happy Valentine's Day
Love is in the air. E was so excited about Valentine's Day. She said tonight is like Valentine's Eve. She was sad that it is only one day a year. Who can blame her? A holiday with her favorites... pink, hearts and chocolate! Her school does homemade valentines. This year we took a group picture of her class and then put it through her favorite machine... the Cuttlebug. She couldn't do it herself this time since we were using a cutting die so next time her projects will be embossing only with that machine.
The project was simple. We glued the pictures on cardstock and then glued her sentiment on the back and then ran it through the Cuttlebug with the puzzle maker die. She then put all the pieces in a snack bag. We stapled a topper on and then the real fun for her began. She got to stamp and sticker all she wanted...front and back! I can't wait to see what Valentines she comes home with in her bag.

Her teachers got a slider gift card.(I first learned about slider cards from Robyn.) |

Ice Skating
While we were visiting DH we were able to take in some of the sites with the kiddos. There were many things on the to do list that we did get done. (Craft shopping not one of them...) We did get to enjoy Chuck E Cheese's. The kids think that is the best place ever! We also spent lots of time at the mall playing in the playground, riding the carousel and of course ice skating. I kept the 2 little ones occupied while E got to spend some fun ice skating time with her Daddy. She loved it and wants to take lessons now. If we end up moving there I guess we'll be looking into skate school.

Cold Days
Brrrr..... we haven't been above freezing temps in days! I have already thawed the pipes on the toilet once. Thankfully they didn't burst. That was with a heater in the bathroom but with these below 0 temps that didn't even keep it warm enough. I have moved the heater closer to the pipe and that seems to be keeping it warm enough now.
So to keep the rest of us warm I have been cooking. My DD and I made Dill Wheat Bread. It was fun to show her how to knead the dough by hand. We even used a thermometer for part of the recipe! (This photo is for you p&s Gwen!)
This poor bread didn't stand a chance. It looked so pretty while rising until I dropped the pan. It only fell a couple of inches back onto the counter but that was enough to knock the rise out of it. The bread still tasted wonderful and the house smelled delicious! DD thought it was "tastee." It was the perfect side to our potato soup. Mmmmm....

Notice the temp is already at 150. It was only supposed to be between 120-130 but I was reading the celsius numbers. My brain kicked in when it started boiling. Oops! After letting it cool to the correct temp we were able to finish the bread.

Love card
Thanks to the cold weather we have to stay indoors. After I got the kiddos tucked in bed I was able to slip in some crafting time. I decided to make a card playing with the Gypsy. I also pulled out my new i-rock to give it some bling. I'm loving that tool! (Thanks p&s Sarah.)

Jewelry Art
Today's post is something that has needed to be organized for a long time now. I rarely wear jewelry for several reasons. The number one lately has been because little fingers LOVE to pull on it and break it. But the next biggest reason would be trying to find what I wanted. I have a little jewelry box that sits on the counter but necklaces get tangled up in it and it becomes frustrating trying to get ready in the morning. I have had on my wish list for SEVERAL years now one of those jewelry boxes that hang on the wall with a mirrored door but it has yet to appear so I made my own design with what I had around the house. Introducing my jewelry masterpiece. I think I may like it even more than the store bought one!
Now I can see quickly what I have so I can accessorize and get out the door. Any ideas for how to display my earrings?
